Frequently Asked Questions
What size tent do I need for my Holyoke event?
For seated dinners, plan about 10 sq ft per guest; for standing cocktail events, about 5 sq ft per guest. A 20x20 tent seats up to 40 or holds 80 standing; a 20x40 seats 80 or holds 160 standing. Whether you're hosting a Holyoke High or Dean Tech grad party, a Wistariahurst Museum wedding, or a backyard celebration in the Highlands, call (413) 230-0596 and we'll help you size it right.
What's the difference between Standard A-Frame Tents and Elite High Peak Tents?
Standard A-Frame Tents have a classic pitched roof — they're our budget-friendly workhorse, perfect for backyard grad parties, birthdays, and casual celebrations. Elite High Peak Tents feature a dramatic, elegant peaked silhouette that photographs beautifully — they're our go-to for weddings, anniversaries, and formal events in Holyoke.
How much does a tent rental cost in Holyoke MA?
Standard A-Frame Tents start at $379 (20x20) and go up to $1,499 (20x83). Elite High Peak Tents run $499–$1,999. Large Event Tents for weddings, St. Patrick's Day Parade after-parties, or milestone celebrations start at $1,299 for the Hexagon and are quoted for the Century. Final quotes depend on location and setup — call (413) 230-0596 for a custom number.
Is Party Patrol Rentals licensed and insured?
Yes — and we take it seriously. We're MA OPSI Certified (State License #MA-491), NAARSO Affiliated, OABA Members, and SIOTO Safety Certified. We carry $3 million in liability insurance — three times the industry standard — and our delivery crew is CORI background-checked. We can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) on request.
Do you provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for schools, churches, or venues?
Absolutely. Holyoke High School, Dean Technical High School, Holyoke Community College, Wistariahurst Museum, the Volleyball Hall of Fame, Mt. Tom State Reservation, and most venues require a COI before we set up. Let us know who needs to be named additionally insured and we'll have the paperwork ready before delivery day.
Do you set up tents throughout Holyoke?
We serve all of Holyoke — Downtown and the Flats near the canal system, South Holyoke, Churchill, Oakdale, the Highlands, Elmwood, Rock Valley, Ingleside, and Smith's Ferry. From Pulaski Park to Mt. Tom, from the Volleyball Hall of Fame to Heritage State Park, we know the Paper City's neighborhoods and canal crossings.
Do I need a permit for my tent in Holyoke?
Yes, for larger tents. Most MA towns require a building permit for any tent over 400 sq ft with proof of fire rating — that covers most wedding-size tents (20x30 and up) and all of our Elite, Hex, and Century tents. Holyoke is unique: the Building Department issues the permit, and the Holyoke Fire Department collects a separate plan review fee of $0.05 per sq ft on top of the Building Department fee. Check with the Holyoke Building Department at 413-322-5600 or the Fire Prevention Bureau at 413-534-2254 before your event. We can provide fire-rating documentation for our tents to support your application — just ask.
Can you set up tents on grass, driveways, or patios?
Yes to all three. On grass we stake the tent into the ground. On driveways, patios, or any hard surface we use water barrels or concrete weights to anchor. Just let us know your surface when booking so we bring the right equipment.
How far in advance should I book a tent rental in Holyoke?
Peak season (May–August) — especially Holyoke High and Dean Tech graduation weekends, St. Patrick's Day Parade weekend in March, and prime summer wedding dates — books 4–6 weeks in advance. For off-peak dates, 2–3 weeks is usually fine. A small deposit holds your date; the balance is due day of delivery.
What happens if it rains on my event day?
That's exactly what the tent is for — your event is covered, rain or shine. Our tents are built to handle New England weather and our crews install them to code with proper anchoring. In the rare case of severe weather (high winds, lightning), we'll work with you directly. Give us a call at (413) 230-0596 if you have concerns about conditions.
